One  blood

“One Blood” is a short film about sixteen-year-old Maxim, who comes to the forest to go hunting with his father, Andrey. For the father, this meeting is meant to be a test and a rite of passage for his son, but the hunt gradually turns into a cruel ritual where love, fear, and power become intertwined. Left alone with his father and the forest, Maxim confronts for the first time the price he is expected to pay in order to be seen as a “real man.”

The film explores inherited violence, paternal authority, the fear of growing up, and a destructive image of masculinity passed down from generation to generation. Its central idea is that being a man does not mean repeating the father’s cruelty, and that growing up can begin with the refusal to accept violence as the norm.
